Change Your Mind, Change Your Life

believeChange your mind, change your life…do you believe this can be done?  Think of this way, we are constantly surrounded by people, places, and things.  Consequently, influential practices will enter into this arena, whereby, you will be affected.  Remember, we are all by-products of our environment, and we have the ability to change our environment.  Most times this change occurs when one has said “enough is enough”.  Generally, someone has thought about their current situation and made a decision to change the circumstances.  Aha…this transition took place in the mind—they thought.

How are you implementing this in your daily life?  Are you making decisions to read wholesome material?  Are you deciding to forego the television shows or phone conversations that are not healthy to your well being?  Are you thinking about how these things have been affecting your life for years?  Perhaps you are just now beginning to process that you can train your brain.  Whatever the case may be and however you found yourself here—the point is, you are here.

Today is a good day to bring your life back into balance.  Today is an excellent day for awareness.  Start with your breathing.  From this moment forward, focus on your breathing and the goodness it entails.  First of all, you are alive.  Having come to grips with this, what are you going to do today that will have an impact positively on your life and others?  Think about that for a while.  If you are not satisfied with the answer, re-evaluate.

Are you finding yourself stressed, under pressure, living in constant conflict?  Stop and think about your situation; and assess what you CAN do to make a positive change.  Do not allow yourself to become so consumed with the “can nots” of the situation, that stress overpowers you.  Instead, change your mind, change your life.

Failure is a Curse Word

failureFailure is a curse word—when you are a child of God.  Why?  Because nothing you can do will fail.  You may not achieve the results you desire, but Christ is always working behind the scenes on our behalf.

The term fail has such a negative connotation attached to it and can leave a person feeling as though they are just that—a failure.  As Christians, we are so much more than that.  We are engaged in battles that have already been won, therefore, we should not consume our thoughts with thoughts of failure.  Instead, focus on the positives that are going on in your life and discover ways to grow from the mistakes that have been made.

I am a firm believer that if you make 100 different mistakes, you are learning and growing.  If you make the same mistake 100 times, you have created a bad habit through the choices you have made.

A State of Contentment

contentAre you looking to achieve a better life?  Start by assessing what you have and where you are in life—then count your blessings.  Many of us overlook the fact that we are healthy; have clean water to drink; have friends and family; live in decent housing—what is wrong with us?  Starting today, make a commitment to enjoy the natural things in life, something as simple as the trees.  With all the building going on, our trees are constantly being cut down.  Why?  Because we want more!

One of the presenting issues in today’s society is the desire of wanting more—more than what we have, more than the next person—just more.  Unfortunately, finding ourselves content in our current state seems to be a rarity.

Did you know that it takes a lot of time, effort, and energy to strive for things beyond our control?

This is self-defeating behavior because it leads to increased frustration and an ongoing longing for more—more peace, more joy, more love.  All of these things are found and received when one allows Christ to be their center.
